Filmmaker applications are now open for the Spring 2017 Reel Change Film Frenzy and World Premier Screening Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Alamo Drafthouse on South Lamar.
We partner 10 local nonprofits with 10 amazing filmmakers and give them one week to make a short impact film telling each nonprofit’s story. The resulting films will be screened at The Alamo Drafthouse on South Lamar, usually to a sell-out crowd.
Once the films are screened, we award a Judge’s Choice and a People’s Choice to two very deserving winners for bragging rights and recognition on the Lights. Camera. Help. website.
Lights. Camera. Help. is committed to ensuring nonprofits use video as part of their storytelling and we therefore partner nonprofits with local filmmakers to make this happen. In addition to your participation in the Reel Change Film Frenzy, qualified filmmakers will also have their profile added to our Filmmaker Directory just for applying. At this time, this directory is free of charge!
If you are chosen to compete in the Reel Change Film Frenzy, you will also be a part of the nonprofit selection process for the Reel Change Film Frenzy; each filmmaker is asked to choose their top three choices of nonprofits to work with (we give filmmakers access to all applying nonprofit applications) and we then partner the filmmakers with their chosen nonprofits. This ensures that you have a passion for the people you are helping!
Before applying, we highly recommend you read our Film Frenzy Teams Rules and FAQ.
