Howdy! Welcome to the Lights. Camera. Help. and Alamo Drafthouse Austin Reel Change Film Frenzy. Now in our second year, this is the page where you can learn more about our Austin event and sign up if you are a filmmaking team or a nonprofit team. Or skip all this and sign up here for filmmakers or here for nonprofits.
The idea is simple. Connect ten filmmaking teams and ten nonprofits in the Central Texas area. Have them meet, decide on a concept and then give them 48 hours to turn their idea into reality. Then, we’ll have all ten films screened in front of a LIVE audience with wonderful cash and prizes awaiting the winning films.
Who: Filmmaking teams and nonprofit organizations in the Austin area.
When: January 11th at 6pm is the meet and greet that’s mandatory for both sides. January 18th at 11:30am is the kick-off event. More details to come. All teams need to be signed up by Dec 15th.
Where: The Alamo Drafthouse Village in Austin, TX. With filming locations all over the city of Austin. (Make sure to get those location permits and forms signed!)
The Cost: $50 donation to LCH for a filmmaking team. And $50 donation to LCH for a nonprofit team.
The Prizes: Three free admissions to any Lights. Camera. Help. Focus on Good: Creating a Film for Your Cause online class + one Flip Video Camera (worth $150) and ten tickets to any Alamo Drafthouse film + two $50 Alamo Drafthouse gift certificates.
Jury Award: $250 cash to the nonprofit + $250 cash to the winning filmmakers.
The winning film (picked by our jury) will also be screened at the 2013 Lights. Camera. Help. Nonprofit Film Festival here in Austin, TX.
