Each year, we put the spotlight on nonprofit and cause-driven films by hosting the world's first film festival dedicated entirely to the films-for-a-cause genre.

Nonprofits, grassroots organizations, film makers and enthusiasts get together to celebrate this unique and important art form.

Lights. Camera. Help. donates all of the festival's proceeds to the winners. Learn more.

TechSoup and the 2013 Digital Storytelling Challenge

Your Video for Good Is Your Golden Ticket!

Ready to change the world with a story? So is TechSoup!

Without a good story, you’re just another cause in the crowd. But a good story also needs to be told in just the right way. Digital storytelling amps up your message with technology and powerful images.

Because TechSoup knows digital storytelling is an essential part of your marketing and fundraising strategy, TechSoup presents the 2013 Digital Storytelling Challenge – a month of intensive learning combined with friendly competition into a hands-on media-making project.

Create a short video (up to 90 seconds) or a five-image slide show and enter it by April 30 to win prizes. The deadline is fast approaching – don’t miss out!

The best cause-driven digital stories will grab fabulous technology from the likes of Cisco, Citrix Online, Atomic Training, Flickr, Connect2give, and Plantronics. With all that tech treasure, you’ll take your digital storytelling moxie over the top.

TechSoup will celebrate all your hard work, great stories, and new skills at an awards gala at PARISOMA in San Francisco and live streamed online – all courtesy of Wix and Eventbrite.

Not convinced yet? Here’s what Megan Neff of Next Step, a 2012 challenge winner, has to say:

“Our digital story has been invaluable in explaining what we do in a short but powerful format. We’ve used it time and again in communications with potential and current funders.”

Join TechSoup’s 2013 Digital Storytelling Challenge to bring your cause into focus. Don’t miss the April 30 deadline!
