Lights. Camera. Help. welcomes submissions for this summer’s cause-driven film festival!  Entries are free to submit up until May 15th, so don’t wait, submit now! This is the third year that LCH is putting on the world’s first film festival for solely cause-driven films.  And, if the past two years are any signifier, 2011 will not disappoint!  Even in its first year, the festival contributed generously to one of Austin’s most artistically powerful nonprofit oranizations-

-Art From the Streets is an Austin program that encourages Austin’s houseless community to create art throughout the year, while preparing for an actual gallery show, where their pieces can be sold.  They were also the winners at the 2009 film festival.  In a list of submissions as diverse as the organizations they themselves represent, Art From the Streets took home the prize that year and were able (through ticket sales, etc.) to supply over forty artists with enough supplies to last over four months.

In 2010, with the amount of official selections nearly doubling in size, $3500.00 in prize money was able to be awarded to the winners of the festival that summer, coming mostly from ticket sales.

Submit your film now, July is right around the corner!
