Just as individuals learn and grow throughout their lives, organizations do the same. We come to a point where it is time to better ourselves – to review what we have done in the past and improve upon what we will do in the future. The past couple of months have been ‘that’ time for Lights. Camera. Help. We stepped back to take a personal inventory of our goals and accomplishments to refresh our purpose.
With renewed excitement and commitment we share our mission to amplify and multiply the power of storytelling to enable nonprofits to change the world! We do this by raising awareness of purpose driven film making, providing opportunities to create and share purpose driven films and by connecting nonprofits and filmmakers so they can work together for the greater good.
In order to achieve our mission and serve the community, the Lights. Camera. Help. Board of Directors is committed to reprioritizing our efforts and energies toward the services we provide and the events we produce. To that end, LCH will focus mostly on the Reel Change Film Frenzy. This focus will begin to incorporate the best of previous Reel Change Film Frenzy events with elements from the Lights. Camera. Help. Annual Film Festival. Our decision allows us to become stronger in our core mission to bring nonprofits and filmmakers together to produce beautiful works of film that nonprofits will use to further promote their noble missions. With more attention and resources focused on the execution of the Film Frenzy, Lights. Camera. Help. can better serve the community.
With this restructuring, some activities will be removed from LCH’s primary focus. Specifically, LCH will no longer offer educational programing, host individual screenings, provide film reviews, or produce the nonprofit film festival. Also, one-on-one educational/mentoring programs will be deprioritized. With a laser focus on connecting nonprofits and filmmakers and the Reel Change Film Frenzy, LCH can operate as a stronger, more streamlined organization.
In order to deliver high quality service and events to the nonprofit community, LCH will continue its individual and major gift fundraising. Funds will be used to hire an Executive Director for the organization, establish a consistent, high-quality volunteer pool, expand our events, offer leadership services and curation for other festivals or organizations, and continue outreach efforts in the community. With this renewed focus in mind, we are thrilled to announce that the next Reel Change Film Frenzy will be held in February-March 2015.
The LCH Board of Directors is excited to be moving the organization in this highly focused direction and we invite you to be a part of it. We all share a passion and energy to help nonprofits maximize their reach, and we believe that it’s through volunteers and contributions like yours that the nonprofit community can achieve its full potential.
